One more significant effort in strengthening the collaboration between academia 👨‍🎓 and industry 👩‍🏠was made by our partners IUS who took their students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Administration at the International University of Sarajevo to study visit to Adriatic Metals BH premices in Vareš. This journey contributes to the students' mentoring and training within the framework of the Deep Green Inno project, and students gained invaluable insights at the intersection of theory and practice. As they stepped onto the grounds of Adriatic Metals BH, they were greeted by cutting-edge technologies that power this mining company ♣ . From state-of-the-art exploration techniques to sustainable extraction processes, the students immersed themselves in the heartbeat of the industry while also learning about how this entrepreneurial idea grow over the years with large investment, a living example of deeptech.
But it wasn’t just about machines and methodologies 📳 . The students had the privilege of engaging with experts from sustainability department. These conversations went beyond textbooks and lectures, allowing them to grasp the real-world challenges and opportunities faced by the industry. They carry with them not only technical know-how but also a sense of responsibility—a commitment to shaping a sustainable future for the mining industry which is a very delicate task due to large stigma around this profession.
Most importantly this company shows how one small municipality like Vareš in Bosnia and Herzegovina can regain life again and attract young people to both work and live there. This was achieved by, at the same time, giving them chance to work in international atmosphere and gain insight into the international markets and business opportunities 🧗‍♀️ .
