EIT HEI Initiative INTERWEAVING OTHER HORIZON EUROPE PROGRAMMES COST ACTION EDUCATION BENEFITING Deep Green Inno TRAINING
Last month Deep Green Inno have seen number of activities of our young experts educated through the COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology. Namely, this oldest EU funding scheme for science 🔬 and technology is solely focused on networking and education. Our young experts participate in the COST action on acrylamide subject ACRYRED (CA21149) ⛔ and have got a strong background in this compound problematic. On one hand, being extremely useful for material sciences such as production of plastics, grouts, water treatment 💧 products and many more, but on the other hand, generated during the food processing at too high temperatures, it becomes toxic and carcinogenic. Last month have seen an well-visited workshop with training, was organised in collaboration of Faculty of Sciences, University of Banja Luka with IUS team who were present as, both the educators at the lecturers and bringing students from Sarajevo for the special laboratory training. Along with their Faculty of Sciences, University of Banja Luka peers, IUS students from the Genetics and Bioengineering study program had the opportunity to gain practical experience in acrylamide isolation. This hands-on experience gave them a deeper understanding of the techniques and procedures involved in separating and purifying acrylamide, a crucial component in various molecular biology and biochemistry experiments. 🌿
To pursue the education in students entrepreneurship, which is one of the main goals of Deep Green Inno project, team of students from Economics and Management study programs had an organised visit the Chamber of Commerce of the Republika Srpska, where they were introduced to the general operation aspect of the Chamber as well as collaboration and standardisation of practices at the national level as a part of the EU integration package. Furthermore, as a part of the visit to Faculty laboratories, they were introduced to different ways of projects and equipment funding and how the natural science output could be materialised in the business environment 💼 .
Now we are fully able to report that the draft for the second batch of this education was just drafted in recent days aiming at the second phase of the Deep Green Inno project, as plastics industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina is very widespread and gave recently seen effort to bring green chemistry principled into the production. Knowledge will be shared with partners in finalisation of the educational platform as the legacy of the project.
