COMPETITION COMPLETION ✔ FOR ALBANIAN STARTUPS
Our consortium partners POLIS University proudly report a success of the competition which took place at the Tirana Lake Amphitheater. Moderated by Dr. Elona Karafili, Vice Rector of POLIS University, the activity hosted Mr. Sebastian Barwanger, project manager of EU4Innovation, Mr. Andrea Ferrero, head of section sustainable economic and social development from the EU Delegation in Albania. Our team is specially honored that the event was opened by Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate.
11 start-ups from areas such as architecture and urban planning, material technology, medicine, digitalization, and e-commerce pitched their business ideas in front of the jury, composed of Mr. Brano Djurovic, CEO of One Albania, Ms. Briseida Gjoza, Co-founder and CEO of ConsciESG, and Mr. Rubin Haxhiymeri, from Strategic Partnerships at CardioAI. This Demo Day was the culmination of 100 days 💪 of incubation for 11 start-ups who received training, coaching, and mentoring in collaboration with local and international ecosystem actors.
Deep Green Inno project can proudly say that not only it provided a support throughout the incubation period of these start-ups, but also one of the prizes to a start-up demonstrating innovative capabilities through the employment of green materials 🍏 . Following the jury's evaluation, the Green Innovation Prize was awarded to KinetoCharge, who developed a system for harnessing energy ⚛ from tires through the incorporation of cutting-edge piezoelectric tiles within the tire structure.
The event was attended by numerous guests, who celebrated the winners and participating start-ups at the end of their journey, and also had great opportunities to connect among five universities, competing start-ups, established companies, local and central government representatives, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship agencies, both Albanian and international.
